Abigail Dowd is known for her storytelling and command of an audience, she has been called “a writer of the highest caliber”. Her soulful voice and unique classical guitar style caught the attention of Acoustic Guitar Magazine, which described the album “Not What I Seem”: “The guitar-driven introspective folk of the 1970s [as] a touchstone, but so are blues and roots rock ’n’ roll.”

Rachael Hurwitz is a folk singer/songwriter based in Chapel Hill, NC. After playing and (some) touring with Honey Magpie for the last ten years, she is releasing her first solo album. Her newest songs cover an array of themes, including becoming a mom, struggles with perfectionism, and nostalgia. Her voice, poignant and pure with Celtic undertones, delivers melodies that will stick with you.

Pippa Hoover’s cello may be what first hooks listeners, but they stay for her songwriting. Her lyrics are introspective, off-beat, and sharp. Whether she’s writing about her year working in Russia, a bad relationship, or a hummingbird with a missing wing, her descriptions transport listeners into the story, and her words—not just her music—create rhythm and texture.
