“Describing your art, your process, and what it’s all about is a pretty hard exercise. To me, my art is like an open diary. I never have a clear plan of what I am gonna do, I just follow the moment and capture things I experienced, reflections and thoughts I have about myself and the world around me. Sometimes, it’s something deep and intricate I’m working through; sometimes, it’s just a release of emotions through colors and patterns. I use mostly pastels (soft and oil pastels) for their strong bright colors and their fantastic texture. I love showing my art and learn what it evokes to people. Sophie Dal-Pra is a French native who has been living in North Carolina for over 15 years. While she started using pastels in her teenage years, Sophie has been drawing most of her life and enjoys challenging herself and trying new things.
