Songwriters Over Yonder - June

Monthly on the 3rd Wednesday Kirk Ridge brings the Triangle’s most talented singer/songwriters to Yonder for an intimate evening of original music and stories.

Join us at Yonder for an acoustic session with Jonathan Byrd, Rebecca Newton, and Kirk Ridge.

Jonathan Byrd is an award-winning songwriter with 20+ years of touring and over a dozen albums. A lifelong collaborator and innovator, Jonathan Byrd’s latest project is Song Miners, a project to not only write and release new songs, but also to teach others how it’s done.

Rebecca Newton headlined “Rebecca & the Hi-Tones,” a North Carolina institution for 30+ years. Since 1987 she has performed as half the duo “Pinky Wyoming and Duke LaCrosse”. In 2022 Rebecca released her latest solo album “Riding Ponies to the Moon“, which she refers to as a “Music Storybook”.

Kirk Ridge has had songs featured on NPR’s Car Talk and Celtic Roots Radio. His lyrics have been published in American Songwriter Magazine, and he is performance director of Durham CenterFest. Kirk co-hosts the weekly “Pass The Hat” radio show on WHUP and produces songwriters’ events statewide.
