Dmitri Resnik & Bootleg Beat

Dmitri Resnik, a native of Chatham County NC, began playing guitar at age 16 and has been playing his craft on stage for more than 30 years. He has eight CDs dating back to 1998 which have received substantial airplay and critical praise and he has appeared in 27 states in the U.S., many provinces in Canada, and Italy. Resnik spent 12 years in New Orleans playing and touring with some of the best musicians in the city .” I played just about every club in New Orleans worth playing and some that weren’t.” said Resnik, who has performed at the House of Blues, New Orleans Jazzfest, and even the local lumberyard Christmas Party. As a member of the Noble Coyotes, he shared the stage with such notables as Anson Funderburgh, the Nighthawks, and Johnny Adams among others. The band was also featured in a TV commercial for the legendary New Orleans watering hole the Rivershack Tavern. After years as a sideman, Resnik started his own group in 1998. The band’s first 2 CDs feature London session man and former Nick Lowe sideman Bob Andrews on keys and vocals. In 2001 Resnik moved back to Chatham County and continues to perform at clubs and occasional festivals. Resnik has won numerous Real Blues Magazine Awards, received AirPlay on Blues shows nationwide, and had songs included on NPR’s Cartalk.
